As an entitlement community receiving assistance under the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnerships Programs Athens-Clarke must submit a fair housing certification to HUD annually stating that the jurisdiction will affirmatively further fair housing, and that grants will be administered in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Fair Housing Act of 1968. ACC is performing an “Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice” and developing strategies and actions to overcome impediments to fair housing choice as detailed in the draft Analysis to Impediments to Fair Housing and is seeking comments from citizens at a Public Hearing.
